A plant ecologist active in ecological restoration, I graduated from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2003, where I studied scientific illustration at the Field Museum of Natural History. I have worked on restoration of prairies, savannas, and woodlands in the Chicago Wilderness since 2003. Currently a volunteer steward with McHenry County Conservation District and also active as a volunteer consultant with the Friends of Wolf Run Watershed in Kentucky, implementing invasive species control and native plant reintroductions. I studied seed ecology with Dr. Jerry Baskin at the University of Kentucky and for my Master of Science thesis, conducted a study of the native and introduced species of Garrard County, Kentucky under the supervision of Dr. Ronald Jones at Eastern Kentucky University.
