I'm a conservation photographer, writer, and public speaker. (See www.ChicagoNature.com) But most of all, I'm a Nature Matchmaker. My mission is help Chicagoans fall in love with Chicago nature and to, ultimately, increase the number of volunteers who work to restore our precious preserves.

Within just 50 miles from downtown Chicago, there is more protected natural area than 34 of the 59 national parks and more native plant species than any national park. It's remarkable! This means that every day, April through September, there's a national park quality wildflower blooming event happening right down the road from home, work, or school. Unfortunately, most people are unaware. And because you can't fall in love something that doesn't exist, I came out with the literary coffee-table book entitled "My Journey into the Wilds of Chicago: A Celebration of Chicagoland's Startling Natural Wonders." And, six months later, I launched ChicagoNatureNOW! (www.ChicagoNatureNOW.com), where, each week during the growing season, I report on the best wildflower blooming events taking place around Chicago. I'm able to do this thanks to our group of dedicated nature scouts. But we need more so that we can cover the many preserves in the area!
In addition to the presentation, I'll have a table for ChicagoNatureNOW! so you can stop by and see what we're up to.
