Laura Rericha-Anchor

Forest Preserves of Cook County and the Conservation Research Institute
Wildlife Biologist, Researcher and Author
Laura Rericha, a wildlife biologist with the Forest Preserves of Cook County and research associate with the Conservation Research Institute, is the quintessential naturalist. Mentored by Floyd Swink, she has become devoted utterly to the fact that plants and animals do not live in isolation. Because of Laura’s immense knowledge of plants, as well as of insects and other animals, her ability to see relationships among them is unsurpassed. Moreover, she regards remnant soils and natural areas as the last refugia for the world’s biological diversity. Laura continues to work on the natural history and taxonomy of plants, and she is developing faunas, with pictorial keys, on this region’s bees and ants.
